The Dubai Metro is the world’s longest driverless metro system in the world and comprises a 74 kilometre network running underground in the city centre and on elevated viaducts along key urban corridors.

Delmatic systems provide advanced scene setting controls and SCADA integration across the 47 network stations as well as the 100,000 sq.m depots and command centre.

Addressable control across the Metro network

The networked Delmatic systems provide energy-efficient, addressable control of lighting throughout the front-of-house and emergency egress areas of each of the 47 stations, and integrate with the rail network’s supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for site-wide management and monitoring.

Lighting is configured into a variety of lighting scenarios – including daytime, night time, dawn, dusk, maintenance, etc – which automatically sequence based on daylight and calendar scheduling. Stationmasters can select automatic operation or secure manual override from control panels at each station which highlight active lighting scenes and indicate the health of the system hardware and communications network.

Comprehensive design support and stringent quality standards

Delmatic were involved from the earliest stages of the project design and assisted in the development of the system application and integration with the SCADA network. Quality and reliability of the highest order were crucial aspects of this major public infrastructure system and Delmatic’s track record over many years was instrumental in Delmatic being selected for the project.
