Highly sustainable and environmental friendly

The BREEAM Excellent building is highly sustainable and environmental friendly and incorporates Green Living Walls and areas to contain plants and promote wildlife.

The complex includes laboratories, seminar rooms, computer facilities, and staff offices clustered around a full-height atrium which separates the laboratory and teaching blocks on the two sides of the building.

A fully flexible DALI solution

A Delmatic DALI system controls lighting throughout the building including the open plan spaces, cellular offices, meeting rooms, corridors, lobbies, atrium, teaching laboratories, seminar rooms, library, and learning research centre.

Multisensors within all areas optimise energy efficiency by relating lighting to occupancy and daylight while occupants in classrooms and study rooms can adjust lighting via switches or wireless devices. Scene-setting controls within teaching labs, seminar rooms and the stunning atrium enabling selection of programmed lighting scenes and allow illumination levels to be raised or lowered.

Flexible Delmatic system reinforces the flexibility of the building

The building has been designed so that the teaching and laboratory spaces have the flexibility to allow for multiple layouts and configurations: this is supported by the lighting management system which provides total flexibility and versatility, and may be easily configured through software to suit the changing requirements of the user.

The complete system is managed and monitored through graphical head-end software while testing and monitoring of emergency lighting is also managed through the Delmatic DALI modules.
