Dubai Festival City

Dubai Festival City (DFC) is a landmark urban resort and is one of the UAEs most exciting retail, dining and leisure destinations. The Festival City covers a staggering 6.4 million square meters and comprises leisure, retail, hotel, and residential neighbourhoods.

Dubai Festival Citys 200,000 sq.m retail resort comprises the Festival Waterfront Centre and the Festival Power Centre which face a man-made marina on the Dubai Creek and form the epicentre of Dubai Festival City. The retail resort has 550 shops, including 25 flagship and anchor shops the largest collective number in the Middle East over 90 international restaurants, bistros and cafs throughout the resort and 40 al-fresco dining venues along the water. In addition a Skywalk Entertainment level will be home to a 12-screen Grand Cinema Complex and associated technology and lifestyle outlets.

A Delmatic lighting management system controls lighting throughout the retail resort. Energy-efficient presence-detectors control lighting within back-of-house and support areas while a sophisticated switching and dimming system provides addressable scene-setting of lighting within the front-of-house public retail areas and carparks. The dimming system combines tungsten architectural dimming racks with analogue and digital dimming while LEDs and decorative lighting is controlled by fully-integrated DMX controls with colour-changing and dramatic lighting effects activated from a single lighting management head-end PC.

The Delmatic system also controls lighting within the 15 kilometers of tunnels which provide access to and across the site. Delmatics latest DELi Dali controllers provide addressable dimming such that lighting levels within the tunnels are matched to external daylight levels and ensure a gradual transition between the harsh UAE sunlight and the tunnel interior.

The Delmatic system utilises the site-wide IT backbone for communication across the vast site and IP Routers connect to the high-speed network avoiding the need for duplication of network cabling.
