Ministry of Justice HQ, Kuwait

The 50,000 sq.m Kuwait Palace of Justice was equipped in the early 1980s with a Delmatic lighting management system which provided fully flexible control of lighting throughout the extensive office areas as well as controlling lighting in the public areas and the court rooms.

The client expressed a desire to enhance the original system to benefit from advances in technology and Delmatic proposed a plug-in upgrade which converted the original obsolete-technology into latest addressable technology without any changes to the existing mains or control wiring. In-house staff inserted new plug-in intelligent cards into the original hardware which transformed the control system into a fully addressable lighting management network with graphical monitoring and supervision through animated head-end software.

The project is testimony to the robustness and longevity of life that can be expected from a Delmatic system as well as demonstrating sustainability by maximising the re-use of hardware and cabling when converting from one era of technology to another.
